KANYAKUMARI

Kanyakumari is the southernmost tip of the Indian mainland located in the three major water bodies Bay of Bengal, Arabian Sea and Indian Ocean. This pilgrim center derives its name from the Virgin goddess, an incarnation of lord Parvati. Legend is that Goddess Parvati did penance to get marry with Lord Shiva. The most breathtaking moment occurs on Chitra Purnima (the full moon night in April) when both the sunset and moonrise occurs at the same time. This place is a land of tourist attractions with many historic and religious sites that are centuries-old and also endowed with great natural beauty.
